Dresden Elementary School enrolls more than 600 students in prekindergarten through grade five. Founded in 1963, the school is a part of the DeKalb County School System. Its core curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Dresden Elementary School offers parenting classes on several topics, such as discipline, child lures, testing, emotional well-being, domestic violence and summer learning. The school has a media center that houses a variety of picture dictionaries, reference materials, newspapers, periodicals, videotapes, audiocassettes and CD-ROM computer software, as well as provides Internet access. Its business partners include the DeKalb Medical Center, American Arbitration Association, Alliance Theater, Dresden East Civic Association, Kroger and Dunwoody Rotary Club.
