 Columbia Elementary School has an enrollment of 500 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school, located in Decatur, Ga., is a part of DeKalb County School System. Established in 1961, its academic curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Columbia Elementary School offers membership for student council and dance and beta clubs. Along with regular educational programs, the school provides programs in psychology, speech, counseling, and gifted and talented education. It also offers Title 1 and second step programs. The school has a staff of approximately 60 that includes teachers, psychologists, paraprofessionals, social workers, and speech and language pathologists. Columbia Elementary School s library houses a variety of books, magazines, and audiovisual and reference materials.
