 Founded in 1959, Lake City Elementary School is operated by Clayton County Public Schools, which operates over 55 elementary, middle and high schools. The school provides educational services to more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It provides special education classes for gifted and talented students. It conducts classes in language arts, math, science and social studies. Lake City Elementary School offers accelerated reader and English for Speakers of Other Languages programs. The school also provides food, transportation, guidance counseling and health care. It organizes various types of special events, such as fundraising activities, family nights and holiday parties. In addition, the school features a library and media center that maintains a collection of books, magazines and reference materials. Lake City Elementary School offers various after-school programs that include games and arts and crafts.
