 Mt. Zion Elementary School is a Georgia distinguished School that was founded in 1976. It enrolls more than 1,000 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as reading, mathematics, social studies, physical education, music and science. Its media center stocks a variety of reading and reference materials and electronic resources. The school has an active parent-teacher organization sponsors various school programs and participates in several special projects and activities, including an open house, T-shirt sales, fundraising programs, family nights and canned food drives. Mt. Zion Elementary School is located in Jonesboro, Ga., and is a part of Clayton County Public Schools.
