St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, in Chicago's thriving Lakeview district, is a vibrant group of young people who are new to the area and long-time parishioners who have worshiped here for generations. Our goal is to welcome everyone to our beautiful campus with a variety of ministries, services, and social events that promote God's presence in our daily lives. We invite you to come experience a Christian setting, enrich your soul with volunteer opportunities, or learn more about the Catholic faith. The cornerstone of our beautiful Gothic worship space was laid in 1889. Since then, our spiritual community has grown in abundance. In addition to our seven English Mass times, we also offer weekly Spanish and young adult Mass as well as the only weekly Sunday German Mass in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Our priests offer confession times twice weekly and by appointment. St. Alphonsus is pleased to offer additional liturgical, outreach, and fellowship programs including: • Annual Oktoberfest • Art and Soul winter benefit • Lakeview Pantry for the needy • Wedding services • Cocktails after church • Faith sharing groups We're also home to the Alphonsus Academy & Center for the Arts (AACA), a Catholic elementary school for Pre-K through eighth-grade children. The AACA mission is to provide an enriching environment and solid academic and Catholic foundation to enable our students to succeed in high school and far beyond. We welcome everyone.
