Dr. Barr was born in 1952 and has spent his entire life in the Chicago area. His undergraduate studies were at the University of Illinois and he graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1976. After graduating from Dental School he completed a general practice residency at Northwestern's V.A. Lakeside hospital with emphasis on restorative dentistry and medicine. He opened his office in 1976 and joined the faculty of Northwestern University Dental School as a clinical instructor and guest lecturer. Later, he became assistant professor of Prosthodontics and joined the hospital staff of Northwestern as well as becoming attending consultant at the V .A. Lakeside hospital, and Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. Soon after he became a faculty member of Rush Medical College in the department of surgery. In 1982 he received a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and to this day continues to maintain active membership in the American Dental Association, the Illinois State and Chicago Dental Societies. He continuously attends continuing education seminars in order to stay current with the latest and most modern techniques available. Dr. Barr has been married to his wife Randy for 39 years. They are proud parents of three children. He is a religious person who pursues faith related studies regularly in order to grow spiritually as well. Dr. Barr enjoys golf and music. He is the lead guitarist and sings in Starting Line Up, a rock and roll group founded 19 years ago by a group of professional dads who enjoy music. The Starting Line Up plays regularly in concerts in Chicago Land and donates all proceeds to charity.Gendermale |
