Established in 1867, Charles N. Holden Elementary School is administered by Chicago Public Schools and is part of the Magnet Cluster Program that emphasizes visual arts and technology. It offers classes to more than 650 students from prekindergarten through grade eight. The school has a library media center that provides access to more than 1,000 magazines, newspapers, books, maps, pictures, radio and TV transcripts, and English and Spanish encyclopedias. It provides academic classes in computer technology, language arts, special education, foreign language, English, math, science and social studies.
