Ruben Salazar Bilingual Center, founded in 1971, provides academic instruction and enrichment programs to more than 420 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. The center offers instruction in English, Spanish, physical education and computer technology, as well as manages a library. It also provides guidance counseling and food services. Ruben Salazar Bilingual Center administers newcomers, special education and dual language programs. In addition, the center organizes open houses and fundraising events. It offers opportunities to participate in several activities, such as cross-country, dance and choir. Ruben Salazar Bilingual Center is one of the educational facilities managed by Chicago Public Schools. |
