Dr. Larry Wolford was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and grew up in a small rural community outside of the city. He comes from a long line of doctors: His grandfather was a dentist, his father was an oral surgeon, and his older brother, Gary, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Wolford graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University School of Dentistry. He completed his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Wolford is in private practice at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and is Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Baylor College of Dentistry. He is the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship Program at these institutions. Dr. Wolford is recognized as a leading expert in orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, airway and sleep apnea treatment, cleft lip and palate treatment, craniofacial surgery and nerve repair surgery. Dr. Wolford is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a past member of its Advisory Committee (served 6 years). He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Society of TMJ Surgeons.
