The Kona Coast is one of the premier fishing destinations in the world. With the fishing grounds merely a t-shot off the shore, you can be fishing within minutes of casting off. The Big Island of Hawaii has 50 miles of leeward coastline forming what I refer to as God Pond without a doubt the calmest big game waters in the world. The location of the Big Island places you right in the middle of the migration routes taken by the Pacific Blue Marlin as they follow the schools of Skip jack Tuna through the island chain. Kona offers a year-round fishery with Blue, Black and Striped Marlin landed almost every day of the year. For those of you traveling to Kona for big game fishing, summer months are best. From June through September, we take in the largest numbers of our yearly big game catch. |
