 Located in Houston, Mahanay Elementary School serves more than 750 students in grades kindergarten through four. The school offers a wide range of activities, such as games and enrichment activities, developing lifelong math concepts and handling activities through development of multiple strategies for solving problems. Mahanay Elementary School provides a wide range of subjects, including English, mathematics, social studies and science. It also offers various motivational and enrichment programs. The school has a library that provides a range of books, newspapers and encyclopedias. Mahanay Elementary School has an athletic department that offers various sports activities, such as basketball, volleyball and tennis. The school used its Creative Communication Language Arts Grant funds to purchase poetry books, rhyming dictionaries and to publish a school anthology. Mahanay Elementary School is owned and operated by the Alief Independent School District.
