 Nat Q. Henderson Elementary School was named after Nathaniel Q. Henderson, who was one of the earliest graduates of Prairie View State Normal and Industrial College and the principal of Blanche Bruce Elementary School. It is a Title I school that enrolls students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school provides instruction in language arts, math, social studies, art, music, physical education, social studies and science. It offers the English as a Second Language program for students with limited English proficiency. The school s special education programs serve students with special needs. Its after-school program involves students in several activities, such as model car building, aerobics, field trips, cooking, group games, karate, choir, art and craft making, piano lessons, photography and puppetry. Nat Q. Henderson Elementary School is a part of the Houston Independent School District and is located in Houston.
