 Established in 1915, Ruby L. Thompson Elementary School is a learning center that enrolls students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school is governed by the Houston Independent School District, which serves more than 202,000 students through over 300 elementary, middle and high schools, as well as alternative learning centers. It provides Title 1, English as a Second Language, Head Start and special education programs. The school s staff includes nurses, guidance counselors, social workers and technology assistants. Ruby L. Thompson Elementary School offers the National Honor Society for students.
