 De Zavala Elementary School is a part of the Houston Independent School District. The school, founded in 1920, consists of more than 30 classrooms and staffs approximately 35 teachers. It is a bilingual vanguard school located in Houston. De Zavala Elementary School employs subject teachers, nurses, instructional coordinators and counselors. The school provides educational programs and extracurricular activities to students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers special classes in multicultural arts, music, life skills, computers, speech and physical education. De Zavala Elementary School s core curriculum includes math, science, English, social studies and language arts. The school provides special education classes for gifted and talented students.
