 Founded in 1993, Lyons Elementary School is located in Houston. The school serves more than 800 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers Title 1 and English as a Second Language programs. Its general academic curriculum includes reading, writing, math, science and social science. Lyons Elementary School provides special education classes to gifted and talented students. The school also conducts Spanish language classes. It organizes field trips to historical places and museums. In addition, the school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, dance, music, choir, and technical and physical education. It operates robotics, cheerleading and karate clubs. The school organizes several educational and cultural events, including concerts, festivals and holiday parties. Lyons Elementary School is a part of the Houston Independent School District.
