 Smith Elementary School offers academic programs to students in grades kindergarten through six. Its curriculum includes subjects, such as math, reading and writing. It also offers science, social studies and language arts. The school provides a variety of special programs that include speech, band, chorus and intramural activities. Smith Elementary School offers physical education, music and keyboarding lessons to students. Its parent-teacher association sponsors a variety of educationally centered community nights throughout the year, including an international night, science fair, scholastic book fair and family reading night. It also provides participation of students in social activities, such as skating parties and dances. The school is located in Houston and is part of the Alief Independent School District.
