Founded in 1957, C J Jorgensen Elementary School enrolls more than 800 students in grades kindergarten through eight. Student-teacher ratio in the school is 19-to-1. its curriculum includes reading and writing, language arts, foreign language, math, science and social studies. It is equipped with a computer lab, multipurpose room, library, gym and a media center. It also offers summer programs, such as field trips, swimming, excursions and picnics. The school provides free lunch to more than 75 percent of its students. Based in Phoenix, Ariz., the school is a part of the Roosevelt School District. |
