Located in Seattle, the African American Academy serves students in kindergarten through grade eight. It provides an African-centered education based on the seven principals of Nguzo SabaIt. It is a part of Seattle Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. The African American Academy provides academic courses in various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. Its facilities include a library and computer laboratory. The academy also provides several student programs in computer science and physical education.
