Evergreen School, located in Shoreline, Wash., nurtures children in the age group three to 13 years, and offers classes from preschool to grade eight. It has an enrollment of more than 400 students and emphasizes small group learning. Its curriculum includes reading, math, language arts, science, social studies, history, art, music, physical education, world languages, library skills, computer skills, environmental studies, conflict mediation and multicultural studies. World languages including French, German, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, It conducts special classes for computer literacy, music and drama productions, photography, environmental science and global studies. Its facilities include forested areas, playgrounds, sport fields, picnic areas and an environmental science outdoor classroom. Its library contains more than 23,000 volumes. Computers are available in all classrooms, in addition to two computer labs. Evergreen School is accredited with the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools. |
