 Founded in 1879, Barnes Elementary School is located in Beaverton, Ore., and is a part of the Beaverton School District. The school serves more than 600 students in grades kindergarten through five. Its academic curriculum includes studies in mathematics, science and social science. Additionally, the school offers classes in arts, history and technology education. The library provides a wide range of resources, such as books, magazines, newspapers, photos, online databases and various encyclopedias, including general, science, Spanish, United States and the world. Barnes Elementary School in addition offers various classes in music and health and physical education, and a special program in Spanish.
