Hyla has had a long-standing interest in massage, yoga, energy work, dance/movement therapies, and sound/music for healing, all of which drew her to become a Massage Therapist. She has been practicing massage since graduating from the Moscow School of Massage in Moscow, ID in 1999. Since then, she has also studied Craniosacral Therapy, Medical Massage, and Traditional Thai Massage, as well as various classes in on-site chair massage, pregnancy massage, sound healing, and reiki, as well as Nia. She is licensed in both Oregon and Washington, and has worked in various settings, including Carson Hot Springs, the Center for Vibrant Health, St. Johns Health Center and on-site for various businesses. She finished her Yoga Teaching certification, and Thai Massage certification in early 2008, and is excited to offer these modalities to her clients. More recently she has trained in providing pregnancy and postpartum massage to ease the bodies transition into motherhood! Her massage style can be described as an intuitive blend of techniques tailored to each individual, including any or all of the following modalities: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Points, Craniosacral Therapy, Thai, and Reiki. She can range from very light to very deep, depending on the client’s needs. She strongly believes that both the client and LMT work in partnership to create a superior massage experience, both through the client’s communication of comfort level, pressure, etc…, and the LMT’s flexibility and ability to adjust accordingly. She approaches each session with an open mind, and a desire to create the best massage experience possible in the present moment. |
