Located in Alexandria, Va., St. Coletta of Greater Washington is a private, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization that operates a school and adult day program for children and adults with mental retardation and autism. Its adult day program is for adults 18 years of age and above who are diagnosed with mental retardation and other health impairments. The organization operates the Woodmont Weavers program that produces various handcrafted products, such as placemats, pillows, totes, scarves and hats that are offered for sale in the galleries and studios. Its school and adult programs are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition the school is a member of the Virginia Association of Special Education Facilities and its adult program is licensed by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. St. Coletta of Greater Washington was founded in 1959. |
