Established in 1878, the Cosmos Club is a private, social club and is located in Washington, D.C. It is administered by more than 20 committees and organizes cultural programs, including evening lectures, noon forums, musical concerts and author dinners. The club also organizes various activities, such as movie nights, seasonal dinner dances, sightseeing and travel, chess and bridge tournaments. The club s facility consists of dining rooms, meeting places, lounges, cocktail room, bar and a library with fireplace. It also has a ballroom that is used for musical concerts, receptions, dances, lectures, wine tasting and club's anniversary celebrations and annual meetings. Additionally, the Cosmos Club publishes an annual journal that is distributed to members, reciprocal clubs worldwide, university libraries and the press. |
