 Established in 1936, Lawton Alternative School is located in San Francisco. The school provides educational services to over 650 students in kindergarten through grade eight. Its general academic curriculum includes language arts, math, science and social studies. It provides advanced educational programs for gifted and talented students. Lawton Alternative School offers the English Language Learners program. The school also conducts special education classes for students with special needs. It offers a range of student activities related to art, music, and technical and physical education. In addition, the school provides meals, guidance counseling and medical care. Lawton Alternative School is a part of the San Francisco Unified School District, which serves more than 55,000 students.
