San Francisco Friends School is a coeducational institution that enrolls students in kindergarten through grade eight. It focuses on the emotional and spiritual growth of children. The institution conducts classes in several subjects, such as English, math, science and social studies. San Francisco Friends School provides instruction in language arts, as well as music and movement. It also conducts a weekly assembly program that includes presentations by local artists, Taiko drumming and puppet shows. In addition, the institution organizes field trips to various venues, such as the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Strybing Botanical Gardens and Randall Museum. San Francisco Friends School features a before- and after-school care program that includes a variety of activities, including chess, storytelling, yoga, knitting, sculpture and flag football. It employs a staff of more than 20 teachers and paraprofessionals, including a summer program director and outdoor education coordinator.
