Vbar St. Marks opened in 2010 at 90 St. Marks Place (aka 132 First Ave) in the heart of the East Village, another quintessential NYC neighborhood, famous for its authenticity, diversity, and significant moments in counterculture history. The space, previously home to St Mark's Bar & Grill where the Stones shot their "Waiting On A Friend" video in the early 80's, was entirely renovated to uncover its beautiful structure and create a seamless integration between the inside and the outside: exposed brick walls, stripped metal pillars, a warm, old-fashioned bar, and practically floor-to-ceiling front windows offering a close view on one of the busiest corners in the area. Just like its surroundings, Vbar St. Marks rarely sleeps: it is open from early morning to late night, featuring breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, cafe drinks and a full bar, in an airy, casual-but-stylish atmosphere. The menus, centered on bar treats, pastas, and Italian-inspired entrees, feature abundant dishes based on fresh, seasonal ingredients. True to the whole group tradition, Vbar St. Marks undergoes a magical transition throughout the day: from the morning cafe clientele to a casual lunch crowd, on to a very happy happy hour, followed by a lively dinner and a busy bar scene- the lights going down and the candles glowing stronger as the evening progresses. |
