Dr. Mitchell has spent the last 30 years serving the dental health needs of children and young adults in New York City. He is the co-founder of one of the premier Pediatric Dental offices in Manhattan. Dr. Mitchell's undergraduate degree is from Case Western Reserve University where he majored in History. He received his D.D.S. degree from New York University College of Dentistry and knew early on that he wanted to specialize in working with children. Dr. Mitchell's post-graduate training was also completed at New York University where he received a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mitchell is a Board eligible member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the New York County Dental Society. Dr. Mitchell's previous roles as an Attending Pediatric Dentist at New York Presbyterian Hospital and as a Clinical Instructor at New York University College of Dentistry's Department of Pediatric Dentistry have allowed him to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with undergraduate dental students and dental residents. He keeps current by participating in continuing education courses in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. In his personal life, Dr. Mitchell is passionate about health and fitness. He has completed five New York City Marathons, and is an avid skier and bicycle rider. He frequently participates in long distance bicycle rides which raise money for local charitable organizations. In addition, Dr. Mitchell is the proud owner of two rescued ex-racing greyhounds, and is actively involved in a local Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation organization. He resides in Mount Kisco, New York with his wife Karen, who is a Library-Media Specialist in a middle school. Dr. Mitchell's oldest son Adam is an education lawyer in Raleigh, North Carolina and his younger son Evan is currently attending the University of Michigan (Go Blue!).Gendermale |
