Loews Corporation is a holding company that controls a diverse array of subsidiaries. Loews wholly owns Lorillard, a tobacco company; Boardwalk Pipelines, an interstate natural gas transmission pipeline system; Bulova Corporation, a distributor and marketer of timepieces; and Loews Hotels, a luxury lodging company with locations in the United States and Canada. In addition, the company owns a majority interest in CNA Financial Corporation, a property-casualty insurance organization, and Diamond Offshore Drilling, an offshore drilling company. James S. Tisch has been the chief executive officer of Loews for more than seven years. He has been with the holding company for over 29 years. Tisch earned a BA degree from Cornell University, and a MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticket symbol LTR.
