Founded in 1962, P.S. 274 Kosciusko is an elementary school spread across an area of more than 100,000 square feet. It educates over 800 students in prekindergarten through grade five and has nearly 90 staff members. The school focuses on reading and writing skills and works with several community-based organizations, including Buena Vida Nursing Home and the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services. P.S. 274 Kosciusko also operates dance, drama, art, chess and newspaper cubs. It additionally offers various extracurricular activities related to social studies, science and band. The school also maintains a computer laboratory equipped with more than 35 Dell computers, projectors, scanners, printers and digital cameras. |
