The firm handles trials and appeals ranging from routine summary dispossess non-payment of rent to complex lease termination issues in Civil Court as well as cases involving declaratory and injunctive relief and damages in Supreme Court. The firm has also handled many matters before various administrative tribunals such as the DHCR. Mr. Lambert received his law degree from New York University Law School in 1968 when he joined the law firm of Booth Lipton & Lipton, and thereafter the larger firms of Finley, Kumble et al. and Dreyer & Traub. In 1979 he opened his own law office and has been providing clients with the same high quality of service since then. Mr. Lambert has more than forty years of experience in landlord-tenant litigation. Mr. Shackman received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1994 with honors as a member of the Order of the Coif, Fordham Urban Law Journal and Moot Court Board. He has handled cases in New York City Civil Court, Supreme Court, the Appellate Term and Appellate Division, and is experienced in commercial leasing. Mr. Shackman has more than fifteen years experience in landlord-tenant litigation. The firm is dedicated to aggressive and results - orientated representation of its clients ; and combines a large firm type of attention to detail with small firm personal attention paid to each matter. The principal reason for referring landlord-tenant cases to outside counsel is the specialized, highly technical nature of landlord-tenant practice in New York City. Landlord-tenant parts of the Court have special rules ; developments in the law of landlord-tenant are often not officially reported. Clients and referring firms want assurance that counsel is familiar with the law as well as the complexities of the Court. Lambert & Shackman, PLLC has both the experience and judgment to serve referring counsel and their clients well in the difficult landlord-tenant environment. |
