A long time ago... way down South... folks would roll up corn meal, fry it in deep fat... and throw it to the baying hounds to keep them quiet... and that's how the "Hush Puppy" got its name. Originally from Texas, Arkansas, Charles and Virginia Ghormley and their three sons opened the Hush Puppy Restaurant in September of 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the success of the first Hush Puppy Restaurant, the family opened a second Hush Puppy Restaurant in January of 1986. Through the years, the Hush Puppy has been a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Whenever you're in Las Vegas, we invite you to come try some of the finest catfish west of the Mississippi. |
